This past summer I enjoyed working on the UMass Crop and Animal Research Farm in
South Deerfield. Through the summer I worked on a few different experiments, mostly to
do with crabgrass, including my CAFE project. A typical day on the farm included
harvesting crabgrass, weeding, and weighing out seeds. However I was also able to
participate in a variety of farm experiences like harvesting barley, planting via water
wheel, and sampling soil from a local farm!
