Fungus gnats – feeding injury on sedum cuttings

Fungus gnat larvae (Bradysia spp.) feed on fungi and decaying matter, often injuring bulbs, seedlings and plants with succulent stems and roots. Note the feeding damage to roots on this incoming poinsettia plug. Larvae present in infested plants or media can lead to prolonged emergence of adult flies.
