Make a Gift to the Extension Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture Program
When you make a gift to the Extension Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture Program, you will be contributing to the New England Florist Credit Association Floriculture Research Endowment Fund.
In June 1996, the New England Florist Credit Association Floriculture Research Endowment Fund was established with donations from the New England Florist Credit Association and Massachusetts Flower Growers Association to benefit the Extension Floriculture Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The endowment is used to support education and research in the commercial application of new technologies and practices for the greenhouse floriculture industry in Massachusetts.
When you make a gift to the Extension Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture Program you will receive a receipt from UMass indicating that your gift went to the New England Florist Credit Association Floriculture Research Endowment Fund.
Examples of Extension projects and research that have been supported by this fund include:
- Development of educational "how-to", on-line videos for commercial floriculture growers.
- Development of web-based pest management apps for electronic devices for growers.
- Bringing nationally recognized speakers to educational programs for growers of greenhouse crops.
- Ongoing research on the use of organic fertilizers for ornamental greenhouse crops.
