2014 Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup
Congratulations to our Massachusetts 4-H National Horse Teams that competed in Louisville, Kentucky this past weekend! All of the four teams (Horse Judging, Communications, Hippology and Horsebowl) did a terrific job, with our Communications and Horse Judging teams placing with ribbons.
In Communications, Jarrett Cordeiro was 1st in Public Speech, Catherine Scaramozzino was 3rd in Individual Presentation, and Amanda Blake and Isabel Pica were 12th in Team Presentation. The Communications Team placed 5th overall. Horse Judging was 4th overall in Conformation, 7th overall in Performance, 9th overall in Oral Reasons and the 5th place overall team! Delaney Tibbets was 9th Individual in conformation and 10th overall! Congratulations to all of the teams and a big thank you to our Coaches who have been working very hard with the 4H’ers since May/June.
The Massachusetts 4-H National Horse Teams also enjoyed visits to the Kentucky Derby Museum, Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Horse Park and Hagyards Equine Medical Institute in Lexington.
The Horse Judging team was coached by Heather Chmura (Bristol county). Team members included Katie Bonarrigo (Bristol county), Grace McAfee (Middlesex county), Rachel McPherson (Hampden county) and Delaney Tibbets (Middlesex county).
The Communications team was coached by Darlene Welch and her assistant coach Janet Bersani (both from Middlesex county). Team members included Amanda Blake, Isabel Pica (both from Plymouth County), Jarrett Cordeiro and Catherine Scaramozzino (both from Bristol County).
The Horse Bowl team was coached by Louis Pitas (Bristol County). Team members included Elizabeth Amato (Hampshire county), Kyle Kennedy (Bristol county), Abbey Rapiejko (Middlesex county) and Taylor Timcoe (Norfolk county).
The Hippology team was coached by Michelle Dionne (Hampshire County). Team members included Zach Carey, Laura Kuklo (both from Bristol county), Cara McGilvray (Plymouth county) and Stephanie Zajac (Hampshire county).
Horse project members should be preparing now to complete for a slot on the 2015 Massachusetts Horse Round Up teams!
