USDA National Needs Masters & Doctoral Fellowships available for Fall 2017
Inter-disciplinary studies on produce safety

Openings are available for students interested in pursuing a masters and/or doctoral degree in food science at Department of Food Science and Technology, the University of Massachusetts.

The candidates will be appointed as USDA National Needs Fellows with the following benefits:
• Annual stipend of
     o Doctoral: $24,500 for up to 3 years
     o Masters: $18,500 for up to 2 years
• Full tuition waiver and a $2,000 educational allowance.
• Eligibility to attend and receive industry certification for extension programming related to produce safety: FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food, FSMA Produce Safety and Better Process Control School (acidified program)

Eligibility:
• M.S. degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or other relevant disciplines OR an exceptionally outstanding B.S. students will be considered.
• GPA>3.5 and GRE V+Q > 300 & AW > 3.5 (iBT), exemption possible.
• Citizen or national of the United States.
• Traditionally under-represented students will receive priority consideration.
